On this page, we will provide information on former Councils in Rexton and former government representatives in our former Local Service Districts (LSDs).

Local Government Reform (2023)

Five Rivers was formed on January 1, 2023 as a result of local government reform in New Brunswick.

The new municipality was comprised on the village of Rexton and the former Local Service Districts (LSDs) of Harcourt, Weldford, and Richibucto Village.

Five Rivers contains the following communities:

  • the former village of Rexton 
  • part of the former local service district of Richibucto
  • part of the former local service district of Weldford 
  • part of the former local service district of Harcourt 
  • part of the former local service district of Saint-Paul 
  • part of the former local service district of Cap-de-Richibucto 

Rexton (1966 to 2022)

Prior to municipal reform in 2023, Rexton was a village in New Brunswick from 1966 to 2022.
