As of August 17, at 5 p.m. the current fires include: 39 active fires; 16 being patrolled, 2 under control, 7 contained, 7 being monitored, 7 out of control, which are:

250 - Chief's
273 - Lovalls Lake
256 - Beaver Lake Stream
270 - Jacquet River PNA
278 - Hells Gate
281 - Jacquet River
The evacuation advisory for the Lavillette fire (271) has been lifted.

Here is the latest update on the current fire situation as of August 15, at 10:55am
Current Fires: 23 active fires; 5 being patrolled, 2 under control, 7 contained, 3 being monitored, 6 out of control, which are:
• Oldfield Road (Miramichi)
• Chief’s
• Pats Brook
• Green Brook
• Smoker Brook
• Bass Brook
Resources on site:
Firefighters: 40 coming from Alberta on Saturday. 20 Nova Scotia firefighters are returning to their province to support wildfire efforts in their region.
Structures: No losses reported.
This situation may change and numbers may evolve throughout the day. We will share another update this afternoon.

🚫 Avoid entering the woods
🚫 Stop all recreational activities in wooded areas, including:
• Hiking
• Fishing via wooded access points
• ATV or vehicle use in the woods
✅ Camping is still permitted only at official campgrounds.
