Tina Beers was elected the first mayor of Five Rivers in November 2022 and took office on January 1, 2023. Mrs. Beers has been living with her husband in Harcourt since 2008. In 2009, she became the community development coordinator with United Way for the local service districts (LSD) of Harcourt and Weldford. Her participation in Centraide as the coordinator of community development prompted her to decide to get involved in local administration, and in 2010, she was elected chair of the local services district advisory committee (DSL) of Harcourt. In this capacity, Mayor Beers has been elected to the Kent Regional Services Commission and has been sitting on the board since the organization’s creation in 2013.
