Update from Mayor on Coal Branch Bridge

On Monday, March 13, CAO Webber and I met with MLA Benoit Bourque and Vincent Roussel of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure to get an update on the new bridge to be constructed over the Coal Branch River on Route 470 in Ford’s Mills.

Clearing of the site has begun and the single lane bridge will be replaced with a two-lane bridge.

Work is expected to start in June, when the bridge will be closed to through traffic, and is expected to be completed by late fall 2027.

We will post when the exact date is known for the closure.
