Truth & Reconciliation Day - Tree Planting Ceremony
When:
Special Events
Truth & Reconciliation Day
Annual Tree Planting Ceremony
31 Bonar Law Ave, Rexton
On this day, we come together to reflect on the tragic legacy of residential schools, remember the children who never came home, and honour the strength of the survivors.
This year, we are to begin planting apple trees at Bonar Law Common. These trees symbolize resilience and will provide fruit for our community for generations to come.
Beginning in 2025, we will establish a new tradition: planting one fruit tree each year to create a public orchard at the Common. This living orchard will stand as a lasting tribute in honour of Truth and Reconciliation Day, reminding us of the importance of growth, resilience, and community.
